These are times of fast-changing news around COVID-19. If you plan to travel the PA Turnpike in the upcoming weeks, you should check this site before you go. The PA Turnpike is a roadway with 588,000 daily customers. We believe these steps will help cut the spread of COVID-19 and serve to help protect customers and employees.
No cash accepted, no stopping at tollbooths on Turnpike “Ticket System”
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) will no longer accept cash and credit cards on its mainline ticket system. All tolls will be assessed electronically via E-ZPass or the PA Turnpike TOLL BY PLATE program as vehicles travel at posted speed limits through tolling points.
With the PA Turnpike TOLL BY PLATE, high-speed cameras capture license-plate images as vehicles pass through. The registered vehicle owner can expect their invoice approximately 40 days after their initial travel date made through the tolling point. Invoices can be paid online, by phone or by mail.

LIMITED SERVICES NOW AVAILABLE AT TURNPIKE SERVICE PLAZAS
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the PA Turnpike is taking all possible precautions to protect the health of our customers and our employees. We are asking for our customers’ patience with any inconvenience these measures may create. Patrons should not congregate, and everyone is encouraged to maintain a 6-foot distance.
Motorists using any of the Turnpike’s service plazas may experience service delays as fewer food concepts are available. This is due to lower staffing levels related to the pandemic.
