Possible delays between Butler Valley and Cranberry exits on PA Turnpike
Single-lane pattern necessary for westbound traffic switch May 21 and 22.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists traveling westbound between Butler Valley, Exit 39, and Cranberry, Exit 28, that they may experience delays due to single-lane restrictions starting at 7 p.m. on May 21 through 12 p.m. on May 22.

A single-lane pattern will be in place westbound from milepost 32 to 28, which will require all traffic to travel through the express tolling lanes at the Warrendale Toll Plaza located at milepost 30.

The restriction will remain in place until crews can safely complete a traffic switch in this area for the next phase of the PA Turnpike’s total reconstruction project. This process includes moving barriers, adjusting signage, paving and line painting for the new traffic pattern.

These restrictions allow the work to be completed without jeopardizing motorist or worker safety while avoiding a full closure of the turnpike. Motorists in the area should be prepared for slow-moving traffic and possible stoppages. Work schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions.

Once restrictions are lifted, traffic will be utilizing a new traffic pattern traveling westbound in this area while work continues for this total reconstruction project.
