PA Turnpike to Close Overnight July 12 Between Lansdale and Quakertown Interchanges

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists that the Northeastern Extension (I-476) will be closed northbound on Sunday, July 12 from 12:01 a.m. to 6 a.m. between the Lansdale Interchange, Exit 31, Montgomery County, and the Quakertown Interchange, Exit 44, Bucks County.

Motorists traveling southbound on I-476 between the Lansdale and Quakertown Interchanges will not be impacted during this closure.

The closure is necessary for the protection of motorists and workers so crews can safely install bridge beams at milepost A-35.87.  The bridge, which carries I-476 over Perkiomen Creek, is in Montgomery County.

Pennsylvania State Police and Turnpike personnel will be positioned at the impacted areas to assist drivers. Changeable message signs will also provide information on closures and detours. Motorists are encouraged to plan travel accordingly. Work schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions.

Northbound Detour

Exit at the Lansdale Interchange, Exit 31, and take State Route 63 east to U.S. Route 202 north to State Route 309 north to State Route 663 south. Reenter the PA Turnpike (I-476) at the Quakertown Interchange, Exit 44.
