Delays Possible at Allegheny Valley Interchange During Ramp Resurfacing

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is alerting motorists that delays may be likely starting June 1 at Allegheny Valley Interchange, Exit 48, while crews resurface the ramps at the interchange. Crews will work at night to limit the traffic affected by this project.

Single-lane patterns will also be in effect on Freeport Road near the interchange in Harmar Township, Allegheny County. The lane restrictions will be in effect as needed both northbound and southbound, Monday through Friday between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. in the area between Alpha Drive and Pine Alley.

The restrictions are needed for crews to safely resurface the entrance and exit ramps at Allegheny Valley Interchange that connect to Freeport Road. Crews will also be replacing guide rail and repairing the inlet and shoulder.

The project is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2020.
