Harrisburg West Interchange, York County, closure needed for scheduled ramp repairs and paving.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists that the westbound exit ramp at the Harrisburg West Interchange, Exit 242, York County, will be closed from midnight on Friday, Sept. 14 to 6 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15. The six-hour overnight closure is needed for crews to safely repair the pavement on the ramp. The ramp may also be closed again, if needed, from midnight on Saturday, Sept. 15 to 6 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 16.

Throughout the evening prior to the closure, announcements will be made inside the service plazas to alert westbound customers that they will not be permitted to exit on this ramp after 11 p.m. on Sept. 14 and again after 11 p.m. on Sept. 15 if needed. Message boards will also be in place to inform customers of the closure.

Westbound  motorists on I-76 destined for I-83 should use the Harrisburg-East Interchange, Exit 247, and I-283 northbound to access I-83. During the closure, you may expect higher traffic volumes on detour roads.
