Temporary Ramp Stoppages Planned on Findlay Connector June 11-13 |
||
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) advises motorists traveling next week on the Findlay Connector (PA Turnpike 576) in Washington and Allegheny counties of traffic stoppages lasting no more than 30 minutes at the each of the entrance and exit ramps. The planned stoppages are necessary for crews to safely remove the canopies at each of the former tolling locations as a result of the Findlay Connector being converted to cashless tolling on June 3. The schedule to remove the structures are as follows:
Message boards will be in place alerting motorists of the stoppages. Traffic traveling on the mainline of the Findlay Connector will not be affected. Customers now pay electronically when they pass under a tolling gantry located at milepost 2.6. Findlay Connector trips between Exits 1-2 and Exits 4-6 are now free. Motorists with E-ZPass will not notice a difference. For motorists who do not have E-ZPass, an image of their license plate is captured as they travel through the open-road toll zone. A toll bill is mailed to the registered vehicle owner using the address on file with PennDOT — a cashless process known as “PA Turnpike TOLL BY PLATE.” For more information on how cashless tolling works visit the website at www.nocashzone.com |
