Turnpike Lifts Truck/Trailer and Speed Restrictions in Western, Central PA

All other Turnpike restrictions to be lifted at 10 p.m. and midnight.

 

HARRISBURG, PA (MARCH 21, 2018) — The PA Turnpike lifted additional truck/trailer and speed-limit restrictions on some sections of the Turnpike in western and central Pennsylvania at 8 p.m.:

  • The truck/trailer ban was lifted on the east-west mainline (I-76) from the Breezewood Exit (No. 161) to the Harrisburg East Exit (No. 247).
  • The 45 mph speed-limit restriction was lifted on the east-west mainline (I-70/76) from the New Stanton Exit (No. 75) to the Breezewood Exit (No. 161).

Truck/trailer and speed restrictions remain in place on other sections of the PA Turnpike east of the above-noted areas:

  • The truck/trailer ban is still in place on east-west mainline (I-76 and I-276) from the Harrisburg East Exit (No. 247) east to the NJ line and on the entire Northeastern Extension (I-476).
  • The 45 mph speed-limit restriction is still in place on east-west mainline (I-76 and I-276) from the Breezewood Exit (No. 161) east to the NJ line and on the entire Northeastern Extension (I-476).

The truck/trailer and speed restrictions will be lifted on the entire Northeastern Extension (I-476) at 10 p.m. All remaining truck/trailer and speed restrictions on the Turnpike’s east-west mainline will be lifted at midnight.
