PA Turnpike to Close Overnight Aug. 6 between Bensalem and Delaware Valley Interchanges
Six-hour closure needed for bridge work in Bucks County.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike advises motorists that I-276 will be closed in both directions on Aug. 6 from 12:01 a.m. to 6 a.m. between the Bensalem Interchange, Exit 351, and the Delaware Valley Interchange, Exit 358, in Bristol Township, Bucks County.

The closure is necessary for the protection of motorists and workers so crews can safely erect bridge beams.  Periodic single lane closures and traffic stoppages may occur Aug. 5 during the night-time hours to prepare for the closure.

There will also be traffic control in the northbound and southbound lanes on Hulmeville Road (Route 513) during the night-time hours on Aug. 5; and during the early morning hours on Aug. 6, single lane patterns will be in place on Hulmeville Road guided by flaggers.

Pennsylvania State Police and Turnpike personnel will be positioned at the impacted interchanges to assist drivers. Changeable message signs will also provide information on closures and detours. Motorists are encouraged to plan travel accordingly. Work schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions.

The bridge, which carries Hulmeville Road over the Turnpike at milepost 353.96, is approximately three miles east of the Bensalem Interchange. It is being replaced with a longer structure to accommodate a new, highway-speed link to I-95 that is being built in stages east of the overhead structure.

Information on all construction activities, travel alerts, local road closures and detours associated with the I-276/I-95 Connector Project can be viewed at www.paturnpikei95.com.
