Pennsylvania Turnpike to Close Overnight April 23 between Bensalem and Delaware Valley
Six-hour closure needed for bridge beam removals.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists that Interstate 276 will be closed in both directions on April 23 between the Bensalem Interchange, Exit 351, and the Delaware Valley Interchange, Exit 358, in Bristol Township, Bucks County, from 12:01 to 6 a.m.

The closure is necessary for the protection of motorists and workers so crews can safely remove beams from the bridge that carries Hulmeville Road over the Turnpike at milepost 353.96. The bridge, approximately three miles east of the Bensalem Interchange, is being replaced with a longer structure to accommodate a new, highway-speed link to I-95 that is being built in stages east of the overhead structure.

Periodic single lane closures and traffic stoppages may occur April 22 during the night-time hours to prepare for the closure.

Pennsylvania State Police and Turnpike personnel will be positioned at the impacted interchanges to assist drivers. Changeable message signs will also provide information on closures and detours. Motorists are encouraged to plan travel accordingly. Work schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions.

Information on all construction activities, travel alerts, local road closures and detours associated with the I-276/I-95 Connector Project can be viewed at www.paturnpikei95.com.
