Express E-ZPass Lanes Open Ahead of Schedule at Mid-County Interchange

The Pennsylvania Turnpike advises motorists travelling Interstate 476 using the Mid-County Express E-ZPass Only Interchange, Exit 20 in Montgomery County, that both the northbound and southbound Express E-ZPass lanes are now open to traffic.

The Express E-ZPass Only lanes were closed on March 19 so crews could safely upgrade the overhead electronic tolling equipment for open road tolling.  The lanes were expected to be closed until April 10, but crews were able to complete the work ahead of schedule.

This was phase one of the overall Mid-County Interchange repair project.  Phase two and three will include repairs to the concrete pavement on I-476 and the ramps leading to I-276 eastbound and westbound. The project is scheduled to be completed in September 2018.

Work schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions.
