Express E-ZPass Lanes to Close for Three Weeks at Mid-County Interchange
Round-the-clock closures needed to upgrade electronic tolling equipment.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike advises motorists travelling Interstate 476 using the Mid-County Express E-ZPass Only Interchange, Exit 20 in Montgomery County, that the northbound and southbound lanes will be closed for three weeks starting at 6 p.m. on March 19 through 6 a.m. on April 10.

E-ZPass customers will still be able to use the traditional E-ZPass lanes (5 mph) to the right of the express lanes.

The thee-week closure is necessary for crews to safely upgrade the overhead electronic tolling equipment for open road tolling. Motorists should expect delays and make travel plans accordingly.

This is phase one of the overall Mid-County Interchange repair project.  Phase two and three will include repairs to the concrete pavement on I-476 and the ramps leading to I-276 eastbound and westbound. The project is scheduled to be completed in September 2018.

Work schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions.
