Pa. Turnpike Closing Portion of Quicksilver Road in Washington Co. on Jan. 23
Three-month detour needed for reconstruction of roadway.

 

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) announces that a portion of Quicksilver Road, S.R. 4011, in Midway Boro, Washington Co. will be closed starting Jan. 23 to begin reconstructing the section of roadway just of south of S.R. 980. 

Local traffic will need to follow the nearly 12-mile, posted detour which will be in place for approximately three months while crews reconstruct the roadway. Traffic will be directed as follows:

East on S.R. 980 
West on Noblestown Road
South on St. John Street in Midway Boro
West on Dickson Street
Continue onto Grant Road (S.R. 4012) to the intersection with Bulger Candor Road (S.R. 4019)
North on Bulger Candor Road to Candor Road
Northeast on Candor Road to Midway Candor Road (S.R. 4009)
Follow Midway Candor Road southeast to the intersection with Prospect Street (SR-4011)      

This roadway reconstruction project is part of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission’s Southern Beltway Project S.R. 22 to I-79 Section 55A1.  The road is expected to reopen in May 2017.
