PA Turnpike to Close Overnight Sept. 25 between Fort Washington and Willow Grove

Six-hour closure needed for overhead bridge repairs in Montgomery County.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists that I-276 will be closed in both directions on Sept. 25 from 12:01 a.m. to 6 a.m. between the Fort Washington Interchange, Exit 339, and the Willow Grove Interchange, Exit 343, in Montgomery County.

The closure is necessary to protect motorists and workers as crews make repairs to the bridge that carries Camp Hill Road over the Turnpike at milepost 338.

Single-lane closures and traffic stoppages may occur Sept. 24 during the nighttime hours to prepare for the closure.

Pennsylvania State Police and Turnpike personnel will be positioned at the impacted interchanges to assist drivers. Changeable message signs will also provide information on closures and detours. Motorists are encouraged to plan travel accordingly. Work schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions.

Eastbound Detour

Exit at the Fort Washington Interchange, Exit 339. Take State Route 309 north to State Route 63 east to State Route 611 north.  Reenter the PA Turnpike at the Willow Grove Interchange, Exit 343.

Westbound Detour

Exit at the Willow Grove Interchange, Exit 343. Take State Route 611 south to State Route 63 west to State Route 309 south. Reenter the PA Turnpike at the Fort Washington Interchange, Exit 339.
