Possible Delays on Pa. Turnpike Between Allegheny Valley and Butler Valley
Overnight traffic paces planned for Sept. 19 and 20.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists traveling between the Allegheny Valley, Exit #48, and the Butler Valley, Exit #39, interchanges that they may experience delays due to intermittent, 20-minute traffic paces scheduled between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. on Sept. 19 and 20. Two paces will be conducted each night between mileposts 43.5 and 47.5. Eastbound traffic will be affected on Sept. 19 and westbound traffic on Sept. 20.

During the paces, Turnpike maintenance and state police vehicles will restrict Turnpike traffic to a speed of 20-25 miles an hour, allowing crews to complete a new pavement marking application in the construction zone. The paces will allow work to be completed without jeopardizing motorist or worker safety.

Motorists in the area should be prepared for slow-moving traffic and possible stoppages.  Work schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions.
