Pennsylvania Turnpike to Close Overnight August 7 between Lansdale and Quakertown |
||
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists that the Northeastern Extension (I-476) will be closed in both directions on August 7 from 12:01 to 6 a.m. between the Lansdale Interchange, Exit 31, Montgomery County, and the Quakertown Interchange, Exit 44, Bucks County. The closure is necessary to protect travelers and workers during a bridge demolition. The bridge, which carries Harleysville Pike over the Turnpike, crosses I-476 at milepost A33.88 in Bucks County. At 12:01 a.m. on August 7, all northbound traffic must exit at the Lansdale Interchange and southbound traffic will be diverted off at the Quakertown Interchange. Pennsylvania State Police and Turnpike personnel will be positioned at the impacted interchanges to assist drivers. Changeable message signs will also provide information on closures and detours. Motorists are encouraged to plan travel accordingly. Work schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions. Southbound detour from Quakertown Following the purple detour route signs, take State Route 663 north to State Route 309 south to U.S. Route 202 to State Route 63 west.
