Westbound PA Turnpike Limited to Single Lane in Bedford County for Emergency Repairs
Restriction could cause delays of up to an hour or more throughout the afternoon and evening today.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission warns westbound motorists that the right lane is closed near milepost 130 in Bedford County between the Bedford Interchange, Exit 146, and the Somerset Interchange, Exit 110. The closure is expected to cause significant queues for westbound vehicles, with delays of an hour or more possible.

The closure is necessary to make emergency repairs to the bridge carrying Turnpike traffic over State Route 3012. The work — which involves repairing a pot hole that developed in the bridge deck — is expected to be completed by June 21 at 10 a.m.

Motorists traveling westbound on the Turnpike should stay alert for heavy congestion with slow-moving or stopped traffic; the single-lane pattern begins at milepost 132 and continues more than 2.5 miles west to milepost 129.5. Motorists are urged to obey posted speed limits and use extra caution when approaching the area.

Westbound travelers may want to consider using an alternate route as queues of 10-15 miles or more could develop. The area where the single-lane pattern begins is about 15 miles past the Bedford Interchange for westbound travelers.
