Pa. Turnpike to Close Overnight Between Downingtown and Valley Forge June 18 and 19
Seven-hour closure needed for bridge-beam installation.

A 15-mile stretch of the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76) will be closed in both directions from 12:01 a.m. to 7 a.m. on June 18 and again on 19 between Downingtown, Exit 312, and Valley Forge, Exit 326. The closure is necessary for the protection of motorists and workers during the installation of bridge beams at Yellow Springs Road. The bridge crosses I-76 at milepost 317.37 in Chester County.

Starting at 12:01 a.m. on June 18 and again on June 19, all eastbound traffic will be diverted off at the Downingtown Interchange; westbound traffic will be diverted off at the Valley Forge Interchange. Additionally, the Route 29 E-ZPass-Only Interchange, Exit 320, will be closed to eastbound and westbound traffic on I-76. These sections of the Pennsylvania Turnpike will reopen by 7 a.m.

Prior to the beam installation, the contractor will close the left lane both eastbound and westbound at 7 p.m. until patterns are lifted by 7 a.m.

Pennsylvania State Police and Turnpike personnel will be positioned at the Downingtown and Valley Forge to assist drivers. Changeable message signs will also provide updated information regarding closures and detours.
