PA Turnpike Closed Southbound on Interstate 476 at Quakertown Interchange, Exit 44   
 Closure due to an accident involving a box truck in Montgomery County.

 

 

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is advising motorists of an accident southbound on I-476 at milepost 31.3 in Montgomery County.  A box truck hit the guiderail and traveled over the embankment near Lansdale Interchange, Exit #31.

Emergency crews are at the scene. No life-threatening injuries are being reported. Traffic is now exiting at Quakertown Interchange, Exit #44, with the following detour in effect:

Southbound Detour

Take State Route 663 north to U.S. Route 309 south to U.S. Route 202 south to State Route 63 west. Reenter the Turnpike at Lansdale Interchange, Exit #31.

Once the truck is recovered and the guiderail is repaired, the turnpike will reopen to traffic in this area.
