Pa. Turnpike Advises Motorists of Possible Delays
On Southbound Northeastern Extension at the Pocono Interchange

Evening traffic paces planned for March 8 – 10 from mileposts 68.4 to 69.0.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists traveling southbound at the Pocono Interchange, Exit 95, in Carbon County that they may experience delays due to intermittent, 20-minute traffic paces scheduled March 8 – 10, between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.

During the paces, Turnpike maintenance and state police vehicles will restrict Turnpike traffic to a speed of 20-25 miles an hour. The paces are needed for workers to safely erect bridge beams.

Motorists in the area should be prepared for slow-moving traffic and possible stoppages.  Work schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions.

Motorists can tune to radio 1640 AM for detour information and traffic conditions or call the Turnpike Roadway Information line at 866-976-TRIP (8747). Changeable message signs will also provide information on closures and detours. Motorists are encouraged to plan travel accordingly.

Motorists can also get Turnpike information by visiting the live online Travel Conditions Map at paturnpike.com/webmap. The Turnpike’s TripTalk app streams audio advisories to iPhone and Droid users so they can keep their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.
