Pa. Turnpike Closing Southbound Ramp Connecting State Route 100 at Downingtown Interchange March 8

The two-hour closure is needed for traffic sign repair.

The Pa. Turnpike Commission advises motorists that the southbound ramps connecting State Route 100 to the Turnpike at the Downingtown Interchange, Exit 312, in Chester County will be closed from 12:01 a.m. to 2 a.m. on March 8 so crews can repair traffic signs damaged during a March 3 tractor-trailer accident.

Motorists should expect traffic delays in this area. Message boards will be placed to inform customers of the closure, and Highway Advisory Radio broadcasts at station 1640 AM also are being used to inform travelers.

Eastbound Detour

Exit at the Downingtown Interchange. Take State Route 100 south (5 miles) to U.S. Route 30 east (2.5 miles) to U.S. Route 202 north (12 miles) to Interstate 76 west. Reenter the PA Turnpike at the Valley Forge Interchange.

Motorists can tune to radio 1640 AM for detour information and traffic conditions or call the Turnpike Roadway Information line at 866-976-TRIP (8747). Changeable message signs will also provide information on closures and detours. Motorists are encouraged to plan travel accordingly.

Motorists can also get Turnpike information by visiting the live online Travel Conditions Map at paturnpike.com/webmap.
