PA Turnpike Winter-Weather Advisory
SYSTEM-WIDE TRAVEL UPDATE: 8:40 A.M.

MIDDLETOWN, PA (Feb. 16, 2016) – The PA Turnpike Commission (PTC) advises motorists that travel restrictions remain in place on some PA Turnpike sections as cleanup continues from the winter storm. Here is the 8:40 a.m. update for travel restrictions across the PA Turnpike system:

Active Speed-Limit Restrictions

Speed limits remain reduced to 45 mph on these PA Turnpike sections:

  • On the east-west mainline/I-76 from Breezewood Interchange #161 to Lebanon/Lancaster Interchange #266; and

  • On the Northeastern Extension/I-476 from Pocono Interchange #95 to Clark Summit Interchange #131.

All other previous restrictions have been removed.

    Additional Warnings

PA Turnpike crews continue to treat portions of the roadway. Be alert for rapidly changing pavement and weather conditions:

  • Drive at a speed suitable for local conditions — even on sections with a normal posted limit.

  • Be prepared for probable slick surfaces, especially on bridges and ramps.

  • Shoulders and median may be slush covered.

  • Watch out for ponding water on the roadway
