Pa. Turnpike Announces Traffic Paces Between Lebanon/Lancaster and Harrisburg East Exits

Motorists should expect westbound delays Feb. 16 and 17.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists traveling westbound between Lebanon/Lancaster (Exit #266) and Harrisburg East (Exit #247) of intermittent traffic paces scheduled for Feb. 16 and 17 from 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. 

During these paces, state police and maintenance vehicles will restrict Turnpike traffic to a speed of 20 to 25 miles an hour, allowing crews to set beams for the new bridge that carries turnpike traffic over Vine Street in Middletown, Dauphin County at milepost 251.

Motorists in the area should be prepared for slow-moving traffic and possible intermittent stoppages. The Turnpike conducts pacing maneuvers in certain construction situations as an alternative to full roadway closures and detours without jeopardizing motorist or worker safety. The work will be delayed by a day if weather conditions prohibit setting the bridge beams.
