Crash Closes Southbound Lane of Northeastern Extension near Lansdale Exit

Accident involving two trucks blocks the left lane at milepost 26.7 southbound.

The PA Turnpike Commission advises motorists that an accident inside the construction zone on the Northeastern Extension (Interstate 476) at milepost 26.7 southbound is blocking the left lane; the crash site is about four miles south of the Lansdale Interchange (Exit #31). Motorist travelling on this section of the Northeastern Extension should proceed with caution and expect significant delays; traffic is slowly getting by the scene in the right lane. The crash involves two trucks.

Southbound traffic is currently backed up about north of the Lansdale Interchange; motorists headed southbound past the Quakertown Exit (#44) should watch for stopped traffic and consider seeking an alternate route. The accident-scene cleanup is likely to continue through evening rush today.
