Express E-ZPass Lane Closure Scheduled for Nov. 30 at Gateway Toll Plaza
Closure needed for several days to upgrade the E-ZPass tolling equipment.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike advises motorists that the eastbound Express E-ZPass lanes at the Gateway Mainline Toll Plaza (Exit #2) in Lawrence County will be closed starting at 8 a.m. on Nov. 30. The lanes will reopen in December before the Christmas holiday.

The closure is needed for an overall upgrade to the electronic tolling equipment that includes replacing the camera system and other lane equipment – all of which will need to be tested once installed. This upgrade work is weather sensitive and will proceed as weather permits.

Only E-ZPass customers use these lanes where travel is permitted at highway speeds. E-ZPass customers can still pay electronically via the conventional E-ZPass lanes on the right side of the plaza. Conventional lanes are designated as E-ZPass Only or Cash Only. Motorists should be aware that the conventional

E-ZPass lanes have a speed limit of 5 mph.

Turnpike Message Boards will be in place to alert motorists of the closure. Travelers can get Turnpike traffic alerts by calling 866-976-TRIP (8747) or visiting the live Travel Conditions Map online at www.paturnpike.com/webmap.

The Pa. Turnpike’s smartphone app, TRIP Talk, streams audio advisories about Turnpike traffic conditions to iPhone and Android users, so they can keep their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road. To download the free app, visit www.paturnpike.com/triptalk.
