Northbound Express E-ZPass Lane To Close on Mon Fayette Expressway in Fayette County
Work to upgrade the E-ZPass system scheduled to begin July 27.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike advises motorists traveling the Mon Fayette Expressway (Turnpike 43) that the northbound Express E-ZPass lanes at the M19 Mainline Toll Plaza in Fayette County will be closed for about a month beginning July 27. Only E-ZPass customers use these lanes where travel is permitted at highway speeds. The closure is needed for an overall update to the electronic toll equipment that includes replacing the camera system and other lane equipment – all which will need to be tested once installed.

The M19 toll plaza is located between Exit 18 (Searights) and Exit 22 (Redstone Way) on the Uniontown to Brownsville portion of the Mon Fayette Expressway. E-ZPass motorists using this toll plaza can still pay electronically via the conventional E-ZPass lanes on the right side of the plaza. Conventional lanes are designated as E-ZPass Only or E-ZPass /Cash. Motorists should be aware that the conventional E-ZPass lanes have a speed limit of 5 mph.

The upgrade work at this toll plaza will proceed as weather permits. Turnpike Message Boards will be in place to alert motorists of the closure.
