Pa. Turnpike Traffic Advisory for Carlisle Interchange

Spring Carlisle event may cause delays over the weekend.

Pennsylvania Turnpike officials anticipate heavy traffic this weekend in Cumberland County when thousands of visitors converge on the Carlisle Fairgrounds for the Carlisle Events “Spring Carlisle” car show open to the public April 23 through April 26.

Motorists traveling on the Pa. Turnpike (I-76) should expect delays entering and exiting the Carlisle Interchange (Exit #226) due to the high traffic volumes and construction in the area. Turnpike maintenance and Pennsylvania State Police will be on hand to monitor traffic in the area each weekend.

In the event of delays, detours or closures, the Turnpike will activate its Variable Message Signs and Highway Advisory Radio System (1640 AM) to inform motorists of conditions. For emergencies, dial *11 on your mobile phone.

Travelers can get Turnpike traffic alerts by calling 866-976-TRIP (8747) or visiting the live Travel Conditions Map online at www.paturnpike.com/webmap. The Turnpike’s smartphone app, TRIP Talk, streams audio advisories to iPhone and Droid users so they can keep their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road. To download the free app, visit www.paturnpike.com/triptalk.
