PA Turnpike Teams Up with PA State Police for 'Operation Orange Squeeze'

New work-zone safety initiative launched as 2015 construction season gets started.
The Pennsylvania Satellite News Service will provide a 3:45 p.m. satellite feed today of the following news event: The Pa. Turnpike Commission (PTC) is launching a major advertising campaign aimed at work zone safety. Also, the PTC and the Pennsylvania State Police are teaming up to once again initiate ‘Operation Orange Squeeze’ during the 2015 construction season. Troopers will be in orange, turnpike construction vehicles running radar in work zones. It’s called “Operation Orange Squeeze.”

The news conference will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at the PA Turnpike’s Harrison City Maintenance Facility in Bensalem Township, Westmoreland County. A full news release will be issued at 1:30 today (and available at www.paturnpike.com under Latest News).

VIDEO: Feed includes sound bites from PA Turnpike Chief Executive Officer Mark Compton, Chief Operating Office Craig Shuey and Sgt. Michael J. Chambers of the Pennsylvania State Police Troop T (the unit in charge of Turnpike patrols). Also included; two 30-second commercials that will be airing on local television, plus B-Roll of highway construction vehicles, and flashing signboards used in work zones.
