Emergency Work Requires Right-Lane PA Turnpike Closure near Allegheny Valley
Retaining-wall repairs close eastbound right lane on I-76 at milepost 44 tonight into Tuesday.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists that emergency retaining-wall repairs have required a temporary closure of the eastbound right lane on the Turnpike (Interstate-76) between milepost 44 and 46 – about four miles before the Allegheny Valley Exit (#48) in Allegheny County.

Because the repair involves application and curing of concrete, the single-lane pattern is expected to last at least through morning rush on Dec. 23, possibly extending into the afternoon.

PA Turnpike officials report that the lane restriction is likely to cause delays of 15-20 minutes for eastbound travelers, especially between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m.
