Allegheny Tunnel Traffic to be Limited to a Single Lane Overnight on PA Turnpike
Emergency repairs require bidirectional traffic starting at 7 p.m. tonight through Friday morning.

Traffic in the PA Turnpikes Allegheny Tunnel, located between the Somerset and Bedford Interchanges, will be in a single-lane condition starting tonight (Dec. 11) at 7 p.m. East and westbound traffic will both be using the westbound tunnel. The tunnel is expected to reopen to two lanes in each direction no later than tomorrow (Dec. 12) at 9 a.m. The crossover is needed to safely accommodate emergency repair work in the eastbound tube after a truck struck an overhead sign at the tunnel entrance earlier today. Motorists should expect possible delays in the area, especially tomorrow morning. For updates, visit www.paturnpike.com and check the “Current Alerts” ticker at the top of the home page.
