Traffic Restrictions Planned Between Donegal and Somerset Interchanges
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists traveling between Donegal Interchange (Exit #91) and Somerset Interchange (Exit #110) of nightly, single-lane patterns eastbound and westbound between 10 p.m. and 9 a.m. for the next two weeks. Starting Oct. 14 through Oct. 29 single-lane patterns will be in place at mileposts 102.5 westbound and 97 eastbound.  On Oct. 15 the single- lane pattern will begin at 8 p.m.

This work will necessitate, one westbound 15-minute traffic pace to start at Somerset Interchange on Oct. 16 at 1:30 a.m.

The single-lane patterns are needed to allow crews to move barriers and switch traffic onto the newly widened roadway. Crews will also need to conduct line painting and temporary paving. This work is part of the total reconstruction project between mileposts 99 and 102, which is a $31.9 million project.

Motorists in the area should be prepared for slow-moving traffic.  Minor traffic backlogs are expected. Work schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions and other circumstances.
