| Bustard Road will be Closed to Traffic July 14 through May 2015 in Montgomery County Detours scheduled at Bustard Road and Wambold Road in Towamencin and Lower Salford Townships. |

| The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists that the bridge carrying Bustard Road traffic over the Northeastern Extension (I-476) at milepost A29.6 will be closed on July 14 and traffic detoured between Sumneytown Pike (State Route 63) and Rittenhouse Road in Towamencin Township through May 2015. Periodic daytime and overnight closures will also be implemented next week at the Wambold Road underpass located between Industrial Blvd. and Detwiler Road in Towamencin and Lower Salford Townships, Montgomery County. Allan A. Myers (AAM), the general contractor for the Turnpike's $198 million total reconstruction and widening project on I-476 between milepost A25.6 and A31.3 will close the Bustard Road bridge located at milepost A29.6 and begin demolition of the overhead structure July 14. Local access along Bustard Road will be provided from either direction up to the bridge for the duration of the project. Prior to implementing the 2-mile detour, traffic control improvements were made and a temporary traffic signal was installed along the detour route at the intersection of Rittenhouse Road and Old Forty Foot Road. Once closed, passenger and commercial vehicles will be detoured over Sumneytown Pike (State Route 63), Old Forty Foot Road, and Rittenhouse Road until the new bridge is open to traffic in May 2015. Wambold Road, one of six mainline bridges to be replaced that cross over local roads or waterways, is scheduled to be periodically closed and detoured to traffic beginning the week of July 14. The closures at the bridge underpass will be limited to five daytime and six overnight for the duration of the 6-lane widening project scheduled for completion in late 2016. The overnight restrictions Monday – Thursday (9 p.m. to 5 a.m.) only apply during the removal and erection of the bridge beams. Daytime restrictions Monday – Friday (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) will be needed during the demolition of the bridge deck and abutments. The intermittent closures are necessary for crews to proceed in a safe manner while minimizing impacts to local traffic during the bridge construction. During the intermittent closures of Wambold Road, traffic will be directed to follow a 3.7-mile detour using Sumneytown Pike, Forty Foot Road and Allentown Road. Local access will be available in both directions to the bridge, but not through the underpass during the closures. Motorists traveling the Northeastern Extension during construction should anticipate reduced speeds, lane closures, stoppages and overnight road closures when approaching the work area. Within the work zone established between milepost A28.8 and A31.5, speed limits will be reduced to 55 mph for the duration of the project. The existing structures were originally built during the construction of the first 37-mile section of the Northeastern Extension (I-476) from the East-West Turnpike to Allentown, which was opened to traffic in Nov. 1955.
