Traffic Restrictions Scheduled Near Beaver Valley Interchange May 6

Daytime traffic stoppages needed for bridge work.
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) advises motorists of intermittent traffic stoppages occurring near the Beaver Valley Interchange (Exit #13) on May 6 from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Motorists traveling on State Route 18 in the vicinity of the Beaver Valley Interchange will encounter 15-minute traffic stoppages, which will affect drivers traveling both northbound and southbound. Drivers traveling the mainline Turnpike will not be affected.

The stoppages are necessary to allow crews to remove the bridge girders from the old bridge that carried the interchange ramps over State Route 18. Traffic was recently switched onto the new bridge. This work is part of the future Beaver River Bridge replacement project. Travelers can get Turnpike traffic alerts by calling 866-976-TRIP (8747) or visiting the live Travel Conditions Map online at www.paturnpike.com/webmap. The Turnpike’s smartphone app, TRIP Talk, streams audio advisories to iPhone and Droid users so they can keep their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.
