Pa. Turnpike Expects to Lift All Speed and Trailer Restrictions at 6 a.m. Friday

MIDDLETOWN, PA. (FEB. 14, 2014) — Because the winter storm is expected to leave Pennsylvania by 4 a.m. today, the Pa. Turnpike Commission has announced that it expects to lift the 45 mph speed limit and the bans on certain commercial and non-commercials trailers on all remaining sections of the Turnpike at 6 a.m. today.

Motorists should still double check for changes or updates and drive with caution when hitting the road in the morning, as high winds and drifting could force local restrictions or lane closures.

Check the Turnpike’s live Travel Conditions Map online at www.paturnpike.com/webmap or call 866-976-TRIP (8747) for the latest restrictions and closures. The turnpike’s free smartphone app, “trip talk,” provides iPhone and Droid users with audio alerts for their specific location and direction of travel.
