Pa. Turnpike Now Open Between Carlisle and Breezewood Westbound accident has been cleared. |
|||||
The Pennsylvania Turnpike between the Carlisle Interchange (Exit #226) and the Breezewood Interchange (#161) is now open after a multi-vehicle accident at milepost 175.6 westbound. No injuries are being reported. However, the reduced 45 mph speed restriction and the tractor trailer ban of all empty and double trailers remain in place between New Stanton Interchange (Exit #75) and the Delaware River Bridge (Exit #359) as well as the entire Northeastern Extension. Snow is predicted to fall throughout the night with low visibility expected at times. Motorists who need to travel are urged to do so with extreme caution. Turnpike motorists can get up-to-date travel conditions by calling 866-976-TRIP (8747) or by visiting the Interactive Travel Map at www.paturnpike.com/webmap. The Turnpike’s smartphone app, “TRIP Talk,” streams audio advisories to iPhone and Droid users. To download the free app, visit www.paturnpike.com/triptalk. |
