Trailer Restrictions Lifted on Pa. Turnpike

Turnpike Remains Closed Between Gettysburg Pike and Harrisburg West.
The Pa. Turnpike Commission and the Pa. State Police have lifted the tractor trailer restrictions on the entire turnpike. However, the reduced speed limit of 45 mph is still in effect from Blue Mountain (Exit #201) to the Delaware River Bridge (Exit #359).

The restriction is in place for this area due to the earlier accident that closed the turnpike in both directions between Gettysburg Pike (Exit #236) and Harrisburg West (Exit #242). This area will remain closed until the scene is clear. The clean-up is taking longer than expected but should reopen by 1:30 p.m.

Trees that have fallen onto the roadway between Valley Forge (Exit #326) and Morgantown (Exit #298) have also required that the speed restriction remain in place. Travelers are encouraged to stay in the left lane through this area as trees are being removed from the right lane.

Turnpike travelers can get up-to-date information by calling 866-976-8747 or online at www.paturnpike.com. Look for the travel advisories box on the top right of the home page.
