Gibsonia Road Bridge to Reopen in Indiana Twp., Allegheny County on Oct. 25

The Pennsylvania Turnpike will reopen a section of Gibsonia Road (State Route 910) located near the intersection with Blue Run Road in Indiana Twp., Allegheny County that has been closed for bridge work. The bridge, which carries State Route 910 over the Turnpike at milepost 44.3, was closed for replacement in Feb., and will reopen to traffic in the afternoon on Oct. 25. After the reopening, some construction-related activities will continue near the bridge.

Joseph B. Fay Company of Russellton, Pa. replaced the existing bridge with a new, steel beam bridge. This is the second bridge the Turnpike has reopened this month. Middle Road Bridge in Hampton Twp. reopened Oct. 4.

The bridge replacements are early action projects needed to accommodate the future total reconstruction of Turnpike from milepost 40 to 48. Over the next five years, four additional bridges in the area will be replaced and the mainline will be reconstructed and widened between the Butler Valley Interchange (Exit #39) and Allegheny Valley Interchange (Exit #48).  For more information on this project please visit http://www.mp40-48construction.com.
