| Traffic Paces to Impact Travel on I-476 between Lehigh Valley and Mahoning Valley Aug. 11 Filming in Lehigh Tunnel requires bi-directional paces for six-hours in Carbon County. |

| The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission reports that motorists on the Northeastern Extension (I-476) north from Lehigh Valley (Exit #56) and south from Mahoning Valley (Exit #74) will experience slow-moving traffic northbound and southbound between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. Aug. 11. John Sterling Ruth Studio, Bethlehem, Pa., has been granted clearance to record trucks traveling through the Lehigh Tunnel. The traffic paces will allow crews to film inside the Lehigh Tunnel without jeopardizing worker and motorist safety. The day and time were chosen for this operation because of lower-than-average anticipated traffic. Starting at 7 a.m., Turnpike maintenance personnel and State Police will begin a slow-moving traffic pace (approximately 25 mph) heading northbound from the Slatington Maintenance facility at milepost A-70 through the tunnel. The pacing vehicles will continue to the Mahoning Valley Interchange where they will turn around and re-enter the Turnpike going southbound. When positioned, traffic paces will resume southbound from the interchange through the tunnel. The traffic paces will alternate directions between milepost A-70 and Exit #74 until filming is completed. Motorists traveling between the Lehigh Valley and Mahoning Valley interchanges should expect slow moving traffic approaching the Lehigh Tunnel. Travel advisories will be posted on the Turnpike’s website at www.paturnpike.com. Message boards will be activated to update motorists of any changes in the schedule caused by weather or unforeseen traffic conditions. Motorists traveling on I-476 should stay alert when approaching and entering the tunnel. Drivers are urged to turn on headlights, slow down and keep an adequate distance from the vehicle you are following; remain in your lane and do not pass in the tunnel. If you experience car trouble and cannot safely exit the tunnel, stay in your car, put on your hazard lights and wait for assistance. Tunnel personnel will monitor closed-circuit cameras and send help. Travel advisories will be posted at www.paturnpike.com and Highway Advisory Radio (1640 AM) will be activated to provide travel updates.
