Pa. Turnpike To Hold Open House in New Baltimore October 25

Meeting allows residents to learn more about future reconstruction and widening plans.
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission has scheduled an Open House Plans Display Meeting to brief the public on the approximately $180 million reconstruction and widening of the east-west mainline (I-76) between Mileposts 125.6 to 133.5 in Somerset and Bedford counties.

The Plans Display is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 25 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Parish Hall at St. John the Baptist Church, 167 Findley Street, New Baltimore, Pa. Residents will be able to view project plans, see locations of bridge replacements and associated detours. Information on the noise analysis and mitigation and proposed property impacts will be presented. Project team members will be available to answer questions about the project and right-of-way acquisition process.

The 8-mile project includes curve flattening on the Turnpike mainline, the replacement of three overhead bridges and two Turnpike mainline bridges plus the rehabilitation of the Tunnel Road bridge structure.
