Closure eastbound on Pa. Turnpike between Valley Forge and Mid County

Truck Accident with Injuries at milepost 331 in Montgomery County.
A 7-mile section of the eastbound Pennsylvania Turnpike will be closed indefinitely between the Valley Forge Interchange Exit (#326) and the Norristown Interchange Exit (#333) as a result of a multi-vehicle accident at milepost 331.6 eastbound. An overturned box truck is blocking both eastbound lanes and two occupants of the truck are entrapped and extrication efforts continue.

Eastbound traffic is exiting the Turnpike at Valley Forge Exit (#326) and being detoured to Interstate 76 east to Interstate 476 north which will take traffic to the Mid County Interchange Exit (#20) to reenter the turnpike.

Expect higher traffic volumes on detour roads during the closure. Message boards will be placed to inform customers of the closure, and Highway Advisory Radio broadcasts at station 1640 AM also are being used to inform travelers.

Travelers can get Turnpike traffic alerts by calling 866-976-TRIP (8747) or visiting the live Travel Conditions Map online at www.paturnpike.com/webmap. The Turnpike’s smartphone app, TRIP Talk, streams audio advisories to iPhone and Droid users. To download the free app, visit www.paturnpike.com/triptalk.
