| Placement of Bridge Beams to Impact Northeastern Extension Traffic at Wyoming Valley Traffic paces and stoppages scheduled to occur Sept. 8 between exits 105-122. |

| The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission reports that motorists traveling on the Northeastern Extension (I-476), north of Wilkes-Barre and south of Keyser Avenue, will experience bi-directional single-lane closures and periodic slow-moving traffic paces with stoppages between 6:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 8. The restrictions are required to set multiple steel beams on the overhead ramp-bridge that carries Wyoming Valley Interchange traffic to Route 315 in Pittston Township, Luzerne County. At 6:30 a.m. the contractor will close the left lane in both directions on I-476 between milepost A114-A115. The patterns will remain in effect until 1:30 p.m. At approximately 9 a.m., State Police and maintenance personnel will stop motorists traveling north at the Wyoming Valley Toll Plaza (milepost A113) and southbound at the Keyser Avenue Toll Plaza (milepost A121) and begin a slow-moving traffic pace to the ramps at Wyoming Valley. If needed, traffic could be stopped for up to 15 minutes in advance of the construction zone. Additionally, local traffic from Route 315 crossing the ramp bridge to travel north on I-476 will also be stopped. Each stoppage will be no more than 15 minutes while the contractor sets the beams. Local traffic entering the system to travel south may also experience delays. Unsafe conditions could cause operations to be delayed or cancelled for the protection of the traveling public and workers. Message boards will be activated to provide updates about the type of traffic restrictions motorists should expect. Stay alert for slow moving vehicles or stopped traffic approaching the area and obey posted speed limits through the construction-zone. To avoid delays, motorists are urged to seek alternate routes. The work is weather sensitive and may be delayed or rescheduled. If the contractor cannot perform the work for any reason, the contractor will begin setting the beams at midnight continuing operations until 5 a.m. Sept. 9. Travel advisories will be posted on the Turnpike website at www.paturnpike.com; in the event of emergency-lane closures, the Turnpike will activate its Variable Message Signs and Highway Advisory Radio System (1640 AM) to inform motorists of conditions.
