| Removal of Bridge Beams to Impact Northeastern Extension Traffic Sunday Morning Traffic paces, stoppages to occur from midnight until 6 a.m. between exits #105-#122. |

| The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission reports that motorists on the Northeastern Extension (I-476), north of Wilkes-Barre and south of Keyser Avenue, will experience slow-moving traffic paces and stoppages both northbound and southbound from 12:01 a.m. until 6 a.m. Aug. 12. The restrictions are required during removal of steel beams from the overhead bridge that carries Wyoming Valley Interchange traffic to State Route 315 in Pittston Township, Luzerne County. On Aug. 11 at 9 p.m., the contractor will establish a single-lane pattern in both directions on I-476, closing the left lanes between milepost 114 and 115 until the patterns are lifted by 6 a.m. Aug. 13. To complete the work over traffic without jeopardizing worker and motorist safety, the contractor will conduct periodic traffic paces with stoppages of no more than 15 minutes in both directions on I-476. Scheduled to start at approximately 12:01 a.m., State Police and maintenance personnel will stop motorists traveling north at the Wyoming Valley Toll Plaza (milepost 113) and southbound at the Keyser Avenue Toll Plaza (milepost 121) and begin a slow-moving pace up to the ramps at the Wyoming Valley Interchange. If needed, traffic could be stopped up to 15 minutes before the overhead bridge construction zone. Additionally, State Route 315 traffic crossing the bridge to travel northbound on I-476 will be stopped for no more than 15 minutes at a time. Local traffic entering the system to travel southbound may experience delays during operation. Unsafe conditions could cause operations to be delayed or cancelled for the protection of the traveling public and workers. Message boards will be activated to provide updates about traffic restrictions motorists should expect. Stay alert for slow-moving construction vehicles or stopped traffic approaching the area and obey posted speed limits through the construction zone. To avoid delays, motorists are urged to seek alternate routes. The work is weather sensitive and may be delayed or rescheduled. If the contractor cannot perform the demolition work, the alternate date is scheduled for Aug. 19. Travel advisories will be posted on the Turnpike website at www.paturnpike.com and in the event of emergency-lane closures, the Turnpike will activate its Variable Message Signs and Highway Advisory Radio System (1640 AM) to inform motorists of conditions.
