| Turnpike Lifts Travel Restrictions on 86-Mile Stretch in Western Pa. Speed limit is restored to normal, trucks now permitted to use both lanes. |

| HARRISBURG, PA (01/13/2011)(readMedia)-- The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission has lifted the travel restrictions it implemented yesterday on an 86-mile stretch of toll highway between New Stanton Exit 75 and Breezewood Exit 161 in Western Pa. The restrictions were lifted at 7 a.m. today. Yesterday at 11 a.m., high winds and drifting snows prompted the commission reduce the speed limit to 45 mph and restrict tractor-trailer traffic to the right lane only, but conditions in the corridor improved enough overnight to lift the restrictions. Earlier this morning, Turnpike maintenance crews were still reporting winds and drifting in some parts of Western Pa., especially around Somerset, Pa. The western section of the Turnpike is wet and may be partially snow covered, and it continues to be treated as needed. Motorists are urged to use caution and anticipate changing roadway and visibility conditions.
