Pa. Turnpike Westbound Ramp Restrictions at the Allegheny Valley Interchange
NEW STANTON, PA (01/15/2010)(readMedia)-- Motorists on the Pennsylvania Turnpike (Interstate 76) will encounter intermittent traffic stoppages and lane pattern shifts at the westbound entry and exit ramps of the Allegheny Valley Interchange (Exit 48). The intermittent restrictions will be in effect from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., starting Jan. 18 and lasting for approximately 2 weeks, Mon. through Fri., weather permitting.

The traffic restrictions are needed for the Turnpike's contractor, Walsh Construction, to do preparatory work and deck removal for the bridge that carried the existing Turnpike mainline over the westbound entry and exit ramps. This work is being performed in association with the Allegheny River Bridge replacement project.

Westbound Turnpike travelers may encounter slow-moving traffic approaching the Allegheny Valley Interchange (Exit 48) during these hours. Traffic on the Mainline Turnpike and eastbound entry and exit ramps should not be affected during the restrictions.

Information on traffic conditions in this area can be obtained via the Turnpike Roadway Information Program by calling 866-976-TRIP (8747) or by visiting the Travel Conditions Map on the Turnpike's website, www.paturnpike.com.
