Pa. Turnpike Lane Restrictions in the Vicinity of Allegheny Valley
Interchange This Weekend
NEW STANTON, PA (12/09/2009)(readMedia)-- Motorists on the Pennsylvania Turnpike mainline (Interstate 76) will encounter a continuous single-lane pattern eastbound and westbound between mileposts 46.5 50. The single-lane will be in effect from 8 p.m., Fri., Dec. 11 until Sunday afternoon, weather permitting.

The single-lane restriction is needed for the Turnpike's contractor, Walsh Construction, to relocate temporary barrier and paint traffic lines associated with a westbound traffic switch onto the eastbound segment of the Allegheny River Bridge. After the traffic switch is complete two lanes in each direction will be open to traffic on the eastbound segment of the Allegheny River Bridge.

Turnpike travelers may encounter slow-moving traffic approaching the Allegheny Valley Interchange (#48) and one mile east and west of the exit, with possible delays during the late afternoon into early evening hours on Saturday.

Information on traffic conditions in this area can be obtained via the Turnpike Roadway Information Program by calling 866-976-TRIP (8747) or by visiting the Travel Conditions Map on the Turnpike's website, www.paturnpike.com.
