Mon-Fayette Closure Scheduled Sunday to Monday

Southbound Turnpike 43 to completely close from Brownville to Uniontown; starting at 11 p.m. on October 4
PITTSBURGH, PA (10/02/2009)(readMedia)-- The Pennsylvania Turnpike alerts motorists that southbound Turnpike 43 in Fayette County between Brownville and Uniontown will close to traffic for up to 24 hours (weather permitting) starting Oct. 4 at 11 p.m. through Oct. 5 at 11 p.m. During this closure, traffic will be detoured onto Route 40 East from Redstone Way toward Uniontown. Northbound Turnpike 43 toward Brownsville will remain open.

The closure is required to accommodate Lions Gate Entertainment Corp., which is filming on Turnpike property for an upcoming movie entitled, "The Next Three Days." State Police, local fire and EMS departments and turnpike maintenance and safety personnel will be providing traffic control and security during the closures.
