Emergency Bridge-Deck Repairs Close Right-Lane Southbound on I-476 until 8 p.m.Tonight Heavy traffic expected between Lansdale and Mid-County Interchanges |

HARRISBURG, PA (08/24/2009)(readMedia)-- The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is advising motorists traveling southbound on the PA Northeastern Extension (I-476) between the Lansdale (Exit #31) and Mid-County (Exit #20) Interchanges that effective immediately a right-lane closure has been implemented for emergency bridge-repairs between mileposts A25 and A24. The single lane pattern, located approximately six-miles south of the Lansdale Interchange and five-miles north of Mid-County, will be effect until 8 p.m.tonight. Motorists will encounter stop and go traffic south of Lansdale and should allow additional time when traveling or seek an alternate route. The Highway Advisory Radio (1640 am) will be activated to provide travel updates. Additional information on traffic conditions in this area can be obtained via the Turnpike Roadway Information Program by calling 866-976-TRIP (8747) or by visiting the Travel Conditions Map on the Turnpike's website, www.paturnpike.com. Motorists are urged to stay alert for slow moving traffic and use extra caution when approaching and entering construction zones and obey posted speed limits. Speed limits will be enforced and fines increased. |
