HARRISBURG, PA (07/23/2009)(readMedia)-- The Pa. Satellite News Service will provide a 3 p.m. satellite feed today of Pennsylvania Turnpike CEO Joe Brimmeier and other state and local officials who broke ground this morning on a total-reconstruction and widening project between milepost 31 and 38 in Pine, Richland, Marshall and Hampton townships, Allegheny County. The groundbreaking media event started at 11 a.m. near the turnpike's Warrendale Mainline Toll Plaza (#31). The $113 million, 6.78 mile project is part of the turnpike's commitment to completely renovate all 470 miles of mainline. The project includes the total, ground-up reconstruction of the roadway plus the addition of a third lane in each direction.
