The Pennsylvania Turnpike reports that motorists traveling on I-476 will be stopped a maximum of 20 minutes at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 16.

State Police will stop northbound traffic south of the Lehigh Tunnel (milepost A70.1) and southbound traffic north of the Mahoning Valley (Exit #74) Interchange. Motorists entering I-476 south at the Mahoning Valley Interchange from Route 209 will be stopped at the toll plaza.

The stoppages will allow safe demolition of rock slope adjacent to the Lehigh RiverBridge.

The work is weather sensitive and may be delayed or rescheduled. Travel advisories will be posted on the project website at www.lehighbridge.com and the Highway Advisory Radio (1640 am) will be activated to provide travel updates.
