TRAFFIC ADVISORY

TURNPIKE SCHEDULES 3 HOUR CLOSURE EAST AND WEST BETWEEN IRWIN AND NEW STANTON INTERCHANGES MAY 17

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission will be utilizing a bi-directional closure between Irwin (Exit 67) and New Stanton (Exit 75) interchanges beginning 12:01 a.m. Sunday, May 17 through 3:00 a.m.; weather permitting. The closure is needed for the removal of an overhead sign structure at MP 74 which is part of the ongoing Total Reconstruction project of MP 67 -74.

Message boards will be placed to inform customers of the closure and Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) broadcasts also are being used to inform travelers of the situation. Westbound drivers will be advised to exit at New Stanton (Exit #75) take Route 119 North to Toll 66 North to Exit #6 - Route 30 West and can re-enter the Turnpike at Irwin (Exit #67). Eastbound drivers will be advised to exit at Irwin (Exit #67) and take Route 30 East to Toll 66 South to Exit 0B and can re-enter the Turnpike at New Stanton (Exit #75).

Information about alternate routes will be available at the Irwin and New Stanton Interchanges. Expect higher traffic volumes on these roads during the detour.
