TRAFFIC ADVISORY

Centerville Borough, Washington County
CENTERVILLE BOROUGH TRAFFIC
RESTRICTIONS DELAYED

Work that was to begin tomorrow now delayed until Jan. 6.

Multiple traffic-pattern changes affecting Routes 40, 43 and 88 originally scheduled to begin tomorrow have been delayed due to unsuitable weather conditions. The changes have been rescheduled for Jan. 6, 2009.

Phase 2 construction of the Mon/Fayette Expressway Uniontown to Brownsville project will require Trumbull Corp., on Jan. 6, to switch southbound traffic on Route 43/Route 88 into the northbound lanes for 1.5 miles, resulting in a single-lane pattern in each direction.

Traffic will also be restricted to one lane in each direction on Route 40 near the Route 43 interchange. Traffic will use temporary ramps to access Routes 40, 43 and 88. This traffic restriction will begin Jan. 6, 2009.

Local roads affected will be Route 43/Route 88 from the California Interchange to Nobles Road and Route 40 from Malden Road to 1/2-mile east of Route 43.

Signage will be placed around the area alerting motorists to the restrictions and new traffic patterns.

The traffic restriction is needed while crews construct new southbound lanes of Route 43 and reconstruct ramps and portions of Route 88 as part of Section 51J of the Phase 2 construction, Uniontown to Brownsville.

This work is weather sensitive and could be rescheduled if conditions are unsuitable.

The restrictions will remain in effect until early 2010.
